Did you say something?

Dear Matthew:

Well, we’ve done it again. We’ve upended your tiny little world and turned it on its head. You’ve come out a winner, as we knew you would. One month ago, we were in Chicago, celebrating your birthday (your first birthday!) with your grandparents and friends. Yesterday, we were spending our third night in our new home in Oakland. In that month, you’ve helped supervise (yet) another move - this time, across the country, you’ve adjusted to Pacific Time, you’ve grown five new teeth, you have well and truly started walking (have to get it on video now), you can wave “hi!” and “bye!” and you understand exactly what it is when I ask you if you can, and you can say “hi dere” which is totally freakin’ adorable.

This month’s letter is going to be short, unfortunately; we’re still settling into our place and things are a bit haphazard. Just know that it has been so fascinating being your parents - watching you grow, seeing you walk, and seeing you laugh so heartily your whole body quakes with joy. This is the fun part of being your mama and baba.

Love,
Mama & Baba.
