Yesterday I ordered a dog kennel for Ava’s grand adventure out west - one that would comply with airline regulations. I angsted about it because the approximate arrival day was slated to be anywhere from July 18-24 - too late! I got an email just now from amazon that said the order shipped and would be here by the 11th. Now, I won’t believe it until I see it, but it sort of reminds me of something Scotty once said on Star Trek - always overestimate by double so when you finish it in half the time you look like a miracle worker.

Another list - this time, of things we’ve done since Tuesday.

  1. Accepted a job offer.
  2. Submitted a resignation letter.
  3. Told people at work about new job offer.
  4. Bought one-way plane tickets.
  5. Ordered boxes for moving (AGAIN).
  6. Reserved transportation to the airport.
  7. Put our apartment up for sublet on craigslist (if you’re looking for a 2 bedroom near the red line in Rogers Park, email me, like, yesterday).
  8. Put a metric shitton of books for sale at amazon. Please to not mock our reading habits of old.
  9. Put the jogging stroller that only holds diaper covers now up for sale on craigslist.

There is so much more to do.

By the way, we’re leaving Chicago and moving to San Francisco. In 18 days.

July 3rd, 2007Fa-moose!

A few months ago, I submitted an image of Matthew nursing, for a call for submissions for the 4th annual art of breastfeeding show in Brattleboro, Vermont. The Catherine Dianich gallery will be hosting the event.

I just got an email saying that they wanted to use that picture in the show! Holy crap! I am so excited. I just wish I could go see the photo in the gallery itself.

July 2nd, 2007A list.

OK, this post is like 2 days late and totally unfinished. I’m leaving it as is because otherwise I won’t get around to it at all!

Firstly.

  • Matthew woke up at 4:30AM yesterday, bright-eyed and cranky, and I could not pay this child enough in money or breastmilk to get back to sleep until 6am. Troublemaker.
  • He also was wide awake between 2:30 and 3:45, or thereabouts. Agh.
  • Said troublemaker is going to be 1 year old in 14 days. Cue freaking out.
  • Aside to Lesley - I uploaded the pictures to fd’s flickr toys, bought a high-resolution 3 day pass, and brought a saved copy to CVS and printed it out. I created the “B” and the “A” in Adobe Photoshop Elements. VoilĂ !
  • I have been so anxious lately I feel like puking. Hopefully there will be some resolution that doesn’t end in vomit. And I am not pregnant.

Secondly - I was tagged by the effervescent Stacie as a:

Wow! Thanks! In turn, I will put up forth my five nominations for the same.

  • Sherina - mom of two, professional blogger, fabulous cook, and all around good person. I adore reading about Hayley and Breanna and she is one of the most down to earth people I’ve come to know online. Love her.
  • Stef isn’t technically a blogger (can you be a blogger and have a diaryland journal? Also, I fucking hate the word blogger.) but she is without a doubt one of the strongest, funniest, sarcasticest (?), and adorable women I’ve ever met.
  • Chicagowench
